Hello Class of 2027!
Welcome to Lexington High School! As your trusty Editors-in-Chief and seasoned high school seniors, we are here to help you navigate these (not so endless) hallways.
We remember our first year at LHS. We were eager to embrace the next chapter, yet also intimidated by the endless amount of opportunities we wanted to juggle. Over the past three years, we realized that finding a balance of work and play is important. Whether it’s pursuing a hobby, reading a book, or simply relaxing, doing things just for the fun of them is key to enjoying your time at LHS. When school gets rough, remember that freshman year is not the end all be all. There are many more experiences, challenges, and chances awaiting you in the coming years.
On a personal level, freshman year is a crucial building block of your high school years. Whether you’ve noticed it or not, high school is a different ball game. Building good habits, whether that means dedicating time to study or creating a workout routine, lays the foundation for success. In the whirlwind of a six day schedule, where having to go between four buildings and still finding time to catch up with friends can blur together, staying organized can be your compass guiding you through the chaos.
The relationships you create over the next few years of high school are extremely important. You will find yourself sharing not only laughter with friends, but also challenges. Friends are like anchors in a storm, providing you with unwavering support. Don’t hesitate to lean on your companions, offer a listening ear, or share your own stories. Vulnerability is the glue that binds friendships together.
Here’s to the friends you will make, the memories you will create, and the laughter that will echo through the halls in these years to come. We can’t wait for you to look back at yourself as seniors, like we are doing now, and reminisce on your time at LHS.
Sincerely,
The Musket Mischiefs
