Former LHS star CJ Cox started in his March Madness debut for the Purdue Boilermakers, scoring 2 points in a victory against the 13-seed High Point Panthers. In the 2nd round, Cox scored 11 points in a 76-62 win against McNeese State Cowboys. Through the regular season, Cox transformed into a crucial starter, averaging 6.0 points and 2.8 rebounds on 46.3% shooting. The team will head to Indianapolis to face the number one seeded Houston Cougars in the Sweet Sixteen.
Another LHS alum succeeding at the next level is Sal Frelick. On March 27, Frelick and the Milwaukee Brewers started the 2025 MLB season where they would lose to the Yankees 2-4. At LHS, he won the Massachusetts Gatorade Player of Year, and would latter attend BC. Two years after getting selected 15th overall in the 2021 MLB draft, Frelick had a sensational debut, showing off his athleticism with aerobic catches. Last season, he won the Golden Glove Award.
