On Jan. 7, Lexington High School and the Lexington Police Department received anonymous phone calls stating that bombs were present on campus.
Students sheltered in rooms and the Fieldhouse as officers scoured the campus for potential threats. Shortly after, students were dismissed, missing the last two blocks of the day.
In a statement sent out to student and parents, Superintendent Julie Hackett stated that “Lexington Police Department is working with the State Police Department’s Fusion Center and the Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) to identify the source of the threat, for which there will be steep consequences.”
As of Jan. 8, a suspect for the calls has not been identified.
