When trying to save money on skincare products, you only really need 3 core products daily. If some are causing acne, then switch that product out and keep testing what works for your skin. I recommend a solid cleanser that you can use day and night, a moisturizer you can use everyday, and a SPF that you can use in the morning. Make sure to take off the SPF in the night with micellar water.
A skincare routine that I would recommend is as follows:
Skincare routine under $25$
CeraVe Facial Foaming Cleanser (travel size)- $5
The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum- $9
e.l.f. Daily Hydration Moisturizer- $9
A way to save money could be to buy a kit that contains all the essential skincare products, such as the e.l.f. Skin Jet Set Hydration kit. In the morning, I use a moisturizer that has SPF in it, so it’s like a 2-in-1. A 2-in-1 means there are two ingredients inside one skincare product so I don’t need to spend that much money on a couple of products and can rather buy a product that has the essentials that I’m looking for.
There are many stores to get inexpensive skincare from like Target, Walgreens, Ulta Beauty, or Amazon. These places provide a variety of affordable skincare products that work just as well as some other high-end products. Most expensive brands have great duplicates out there that are just like the original product, but cheaper. Before buying products, a quick Google search can help you check if there are any cheaper products out there. If a product is trending on TikTok or any social media, be cautious about buying it. There’s no need to buy a $70 cleanser when there are the same quality cleansers at Target or Walgreens for $15.
Personally, I prefer to shop for inexpensive skincare products on Amazon. I add a bunch of affordable products to my cart that I want to try on my skin, and if I don’t like the texture, scent, or formula then I will just return it.
One of my favorite budget-friendly skincare brands is BYOMA because their skincare packaging is very cute and I don’t need to pay a lot of money for it. Another one of my favorites is CeraVe because the containers come with a lot of the product, so I get a lot without paying much.
There are also some products you can make at home, such as face masks. Try using honey, yogurt, or oatmeal, which could help save money. But make sure to research what you are putting on your face at home, because some ingredients like toothpaste and lemon juice could harm the skin.
In short, finding affordable skincare is quite easy if you know where to look. By doing your research, comparing options, and using homemade remedies, you can take care of your skin in a healthy yet cost-effective way.
